What is R2 recycling?
R2 Recycling or Responsible Recycling is a standard for electronics recycling. The standard is currently managed by Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI).
The R2v3 standard is the leading certification for electronics recycling firms and IT asset disposal providers. The standard is designed to ensure quality, security, health, safety, environmental, and social responsibility.
The standard requires firms to operate with a rigorous management system that focuses on process, documentation, secure data destruction, downstream accountability, employee training, contingency planning, and continuously improving business operations.
Companies undergo yearly third party audits in order to maintain R2 Certification.
